It's politics that blinds us. Actually, when SuperSize me first came out I watched it with interest and also found it credible. However, that was when I still believed in that we should all eat less meat and more veggies....even though I always liked meat but it simply wasn't politically correct to admit that AND the so-called experts had managed to penetrate my brain and place the message that meat-eating wasn't safe and caused all manner of cancers. But then: how is a person to know? I can't make my own nutrititonal studies and it's very hard to stand up against general opinion. So I was VERY glad indeed when I discovered the science and benefits of low-carbing. I certainly don't make a habit of eating at Mc D's - but not because of poltical correctness but because I don't find their hamburgers particularly good. But I DO remember a hamburger bar right in the middle of Manhattan. And their hamburgers (no chips for me, of course) were just FANTASTIC. I'd go back there anytime.
